Do I need to prep before my appointment?

Prior to your appointment, please arrive without any eye makeup, do not curl your lashes or wear mascara the day before and the day of your appointment. This will help minimize the prep time and allow more time for lashing.


Will it harm or pull out my natural lashes? 

Lash extensions will not cause your natural eyelashes to fall out. Based on the growth cycle of eyelashes, when applying lashes, stylists are trained to look for mature lashes to attach the individual lash extensions. Remember that your natural lashes have their own life cycle of shedding and growing – like the hair found elsewhere on your body. It's hard to notice small lashes falling out, but when attached to thicker and longer lashes, they become more noticeable. Once the extensions are removed, your natural lashes may appear shorter and sparser because you have been accustomed to a full set of longer, thicker lashes.


How long does it take to apply lash extensions?

Lash extensions are applied while you are laying down with your eyes closed on a comfortable spa bed in a serene setting. The service takes approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours for a full set of lashes; however, it depends on the set of lashes you select. After prepping your lashes, your bottom lashes are protected with a gel eye pad; lash extensions are then applied 1-to-1 (classic) or multiple lighter lashes to one lash (volume) with medical grade adhesive. It is a really relaxing, non-invasive treatment and most of our clients take the time to catch up on their beauty rest!


How long will my new lashes last?

Your new lashes will last between 2 to 3 weeks depending on your skincare routine and your own natural lash life cycle. To maintain the full look of your lashes, it will require you to maintain fill-ins every 2-3 weeks.  Please note that we are not responsible for allergic reactions that may arise during or after the lash extension application.  GIRLKIN Lashes has a strict no refund policy.   Please let us know within 48 hours if you experience any issues with your new lash extensions.


How often should I come in for lash refills?

We recommend fill-ins every 2 to 3 weeks. If you wait too long, your extensions will fall out and you will require a full set. Factors such as exposure to humidity, steam or touching your eyes a lot may cause the extensions to fall quicker.  Fill-ins can take from 45 - 75 minutes, depending on the state of your remaining lashes. A good sign of when you need a fill-in is when you have lost 50-60% of your lash extensions.


Can I apply mascara to my lash extensions?

No, we do not recommend using mascara on your lash extensions.  Please do not use oil-based or waterproof products on or around your eyes.  Waterproof mascara and any type of oil based mascara dissolves the bonding agent of the extensions and causes them to fall out prematurely. Also, be careful when washing off all eye makeup. Only use a water based eye makeup remover.


Can I swim, shower or exercise while wearing lash extensions?

Yes. Our adhesive is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim and exercise. However, we recommend that you do not wash your eye area for at least 48 hours after the initial eyelash extension application. This allows the adhesive to fully dry and prolong the life of your extensions.

How do I take care of my new lash extensions?

  • Do not get your lashes wet for at least 48 hours after application

  • Use an oil-free eye makeup remover

  • Do not rub, pick or pull your eyelashes

  • Do not use mascara

  • Avoid using an eyelash curler

  • Try to avoid exposure to heat, steam, sauna and friction

  • Use water-based soap and cleaning products.

CANCELLATION POLICY
We all do at some point, so we get it; however, please kindly let us know 48 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee.

A valid credit card must be on file for all reservations. You may cancel/reschedule your appointment up to 48 hours before your scheduled time without penalty. Cancellation/rescheduling requests received within 48 hours of your appointment are treated as late cancellations and will be charged 50% of the service price to the credit card on file. Same-day cancellations and no-call/no-shows will be charged 100% of the service price to the credit card on file. No refunds will be given on executed services. If you arrive more than 15 min late for your appointment, we have the discretion to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Reschedule/Cancellation fees will apply.
